2. In brief

This website uses no cookies, no tracking and no third-party analytics services, and loads no third-party content; fonts and images are also served from this server. Personal data is only processed in technical server logs and when you email me.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website runs on a server of Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus, in its Frankfurt am Main data centre. Hostinger processes the data on my behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).

With every visit the server automatically records: IP address, date and time, page requested, previously visited page (referrer), browser and operating system, status code and amount of data transferred. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably and to detect errors or attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation). The logs are deleted automatically after 15 days at the latest.

From these logs I create a simple visitor statistic (e.g. page views, country, browser). It does not store full IP addresses (they are shortened) and only I can see it.

4. Contact by email

If you write to me at hello@meetkhalid.com, I process your address and the content of your message to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where it concerns a possible collaboration, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The mailbox is operated by Hostinger (see above); messages are forwarded to my Google Mail account (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). A transfer to the USA is possible; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR). I delete your message once it has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.

5. Link to LinkedIn

The website contains a simple link to my LinkedIn profile. No data is transferred until you click it; after that, LinkedIn’s privacy policy applies.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) (Art. 21). An email to hello@meetkhalid.com is enough. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany.
